The devout Sikh’s enormous headgear consists of no less than 645 meters of fabric, weighing 100 pounds. It took him a staggering 16 years to assemble, and he needs to spend six hours just to put it on.

Television channels broadcast closed-circuit footage of the frightened man, aged 20, inside the tiger's enclosure in the zoo that houses six white tigers, along with lions and panthers.

According to TV reports and some eye witnesses present on the spot claim the barricade at the zoo was too low. The boy accidentally fell into the tiger's enclosure as he attempted to get a closer look at the carnivore.

Amitabh Agnihotri, the director of the National Zoological Park in the Indian capital said "The tiger grabbed the youth and killed him. I am not clear whether the youth jumped into the cage or he slipped accidentally."
