Oktoberfest, the 16-day festival is also know as "Wiesn". celebrated annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. The Oktoberfest runs from late September to the first weekend in October. It is the world’s largest fair and one of Germany's most popular events. It is the world’s largest fair attended by Nearly 6 million people every year which is an important aspect of Bavarian culture.
The Oktoberfest has been held since 1810 in Munich to celebrate King Ludwig I wedding to Princess Therese of Bavaria, since 1850 the fair became a regular event the area where the modern Oktoberfest takes place is named after Pricness Therese of Bavaria.
