New 7 Wonders of the World

The Official New 7 Wonders of the World have been elected by more than 100 million votes to represent global heritage throughout history. As announced at the Declaration Ceremony on 07.07.07.


Taj Mahal


The Taj Mahal is the epitome of Mughal art and one of the most famous buildings in the world.
Taj Mahal stands on the bank of River Yamuna, which otherwise serves as a wide moat defending the Great Red Fort of Agra, the center of the Mughal emperors until they moved their capital to Delhi in 1637. It was built by the fifth Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan in 1631 in memory of his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal, a Muslim Persian princess.



Chichen Itza



Chichen Itza is the most visited archaeological site in the peninsula of Yucatan, due to its extraordinary architecture beauty and its geographical location. It is located 120 km from Merida (about midway between the towns of Cancun and Merida) in the State of Yucatan, Mexico.


Christ the Redeemer



Towering atop 2400 ft. tall Corcovado Mountain stands certainly Rio’s most memorable monument Christ The Redeemer (Cristo Redentor). Standing upright at over 100 feet tall, two and one half million pounds with outstretched arms and open, inviting hands, Cristo maintains a 24 hour vigil to all inhabitants of Rio.

The Roman Colosseum



The Colosseum - the greatest amphitheatre of the antiquity - was built in Rome, Italy, about 1920 years ago. It is considered an architectural and engineering wonder, and remains as a standing proof of both the grandeur and the cruelty of the Roman world.

The Great Wall of China


One of the greatest wonders of the world, was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching approximately 8,851.8 kilometers (5,500 miles) from east to west of China. With a history of more than 2000 years, some of the sections are now in ruins or have disappeared.

Petra Jordan



Petra was the glittering capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV . Established sometime around the 6th century BC as the capital city of the Nabataeans,[3] it is a symbol of Jordan as well as its most visited tourism attraction. Masters of water technology, the Nabataeans provided their city with great tunnel constructions and water chambers. etra has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.


Machu Picchu Peru



Machu Picchu was built as an estate for the Inca emperor Pachacuti (1438–1472). Often referred to as "The Lost City of the Incas", it is perhaps the most familiar icon of the Inca World. in the clouds on the mountain known as Machu Picchu ("old mountain"). This extraordinary settlement lies halfway up the Andes Plateau, deep in the Amazon jungle and above the Urubamba River.Machu Picchu was declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
