The Confederation Bridge
The Confederation Bridge is a bridge spanning the Abegweit Passage of Northumberland Strait, linking Prince Edward Island with mainland New Brunswick, Canada. It was commonly referred to as the "Fixed Link" (cf. fixed link) by residents of Prince Edward Island prior to its official naming. Construction took place from the fall of 1993 to the spring of 1997, costing C$1.3 billion. The 12.9-kilometre (8 mi) long bridge opened on 31 May 1997.

Magdeburg Water Bridge
The Magdeburg Water Bridge (German: Wasserstraßenkreuz) is a navigable aqueduct in Germany, completed in October 2003. It connects the Elbe-Havel Canal to the Mittellandkanal ("Midland Canal"), crossing over the River Elbe. The canals had previously met near Magdeburg but at opposite banks across the River Elbe. It is notable for being the longest navigable aqueduct in the world, with a length of 918 metres.

This project linked up the parks between the West Coast Park and HarbourFront. The idea to link these parks were coined in 2002 by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and it took 2 years to complete and cost S$25.5 million.

The Seri Wawasan Bridge is one of the main bridges in Putrajaya, the Malaysian federal administrative capital. This futuristic cable-stayed bridge which has a sail ship appearance, connects Precinct 2 on the Core Island to the residential area of Precinct 8.


The Alamillo Bridge

The Alamillo Bridge is a structure in Seville, Andalusia (Spain), which spans the Canal de Alfonso XIII, allowing access to La Cartuja, an island between the canal and the Guadalquivir River. The bridge was constructed as part of infrastructure improvements for Expo 92, which was held on a large site on the island. Construction of the bridge began in 1989 and was completed in 1992 from a design by Santiago Calatrava.

Nan Pu Bridge, built in 1991, has navigation overhead clearance of 46 meters, accommodating any steamer with tonnage of 55,000. With a full length of 846 meters and width of 30.35 meters, the bridge has six motorways and two pedestrian lanes. The bridge's two towers are of reinforced concrete and stand 154 meters high. Twenty-two pairs of high-tension wires tightly connected with the steel beams of the main section of the bridge flank the towers. Historically it is the first modern, heavy-duty bridge in China, spiraling over the Huang Pu River like a gigantic dragon lifting its head and trunk.



The Pont de Normandie is a cable-stayed road bridge that spans the river Seine linking Le Havre to Honfleur in Normandy, northern France. Its total length is 2,143.21 metres (7,032 ft) – 856 metres (2,808 ft) between the two piers.
